An insult becomes praise?

I have posted a number of articles about global warming recently. Due to this, a relative of mine has sent me an article saying most global warming critics are likely hypocrites. The article points out that becoming a vegetarian saves spewing as much CO2 into the atmosphere as does switching from an SUV to a hybrid car, and that most of these critics are likely not vegetarians.

I can't tell, however, if the email was designed to call me a hypocrite or to give me kudos for being a vegetarian. As far as I know, the relative is not aware that I prefer not to eat meat. Thus, I think the email was designed to call me a hypocrite, but it ended up making me feel better about myself.
