WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Most American taxpayers would get $100 rebate checks to offset the pain of higher pump prices for gasoline, under an amendment Senate Republicans hope to bring to a vote soon.
I cannot believe this. Instead of doing something...ANYTHING to try to alleviate future problems with petroleum costs (such as passing tougher laws on fuel economy or by funding the research necessary to develop alternative fuels), Senate Republicans propose just giving us $100.
That is the. stupidest. thing. I have heard. all. day. And I work at a high school.
