Local Author Writing About Politics for the NYT

"If I were one of the big corporate donors who bankrolled the Republican tide that carried into office more than 50 new Republicans in the House, I would be wary of what you just bought.

For no matter your view of President Obama, he effectively saved capitalism. And for that, he paid a terrible political price."

This was written by Spokane-grown Timothy Egan, winner of the National Book Award for The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl and most recently the author of The Big Burn: Teddy Roosevelt and the Fire that Saved America.

He writes a blog for the New York Times, and the above is from an excerpt from his post titled "How Obama Saved Capitalism and Lost the Midterms" I recommend it.
