I was going to post an excerpt of this article, but I basically was going to excerpt over 50% of the content, so I just decided to find it's thesis in a sentence and implore you to read it.
The article argues that the internet and Twitter are not really tools to bring down Iran and China; instead, they are the tools that those governments let its citizens use in order to pacify them.
Just read the article. It's short and really good.
