Due to circumstances beyond my control (most of us have started the book and don't like it), we are switching our book club selection from "The Zero" to "Loving" by Henry Green. Like "Revolutionary Road," "Loving" was on the list of 100 greatest English language novels since 1923. Unlike RR, it is also on the Modern Library's list of 100 greatest novels of all time. So, it's gotta be good (plus, it's one of Updike's favorite novels).
Because of the holidays, we probably won't have the meeting until mid January. That should give you enough time to order the book and start reading!!

I'm #2 in line. Spokane Library only has 1 copy.
I think you should have started with Citizen Vince-an East coast mafia informant is relocated to Spokane circa the Carter administration, many local Spokane haunts are referenced. That book was written to a be a Spokane Book Club selection.
BTW did you like The Zero?
phew....
glad i don't have to finish that sucker.
It's nice to know you didn't like it either.
Pat, I did not like "The Zero." Much too descriptive in an overwrought way, and the characters were too stock for me.
