It's Gotta Be a Joke..But It's Not

A few months back, a friend of mine posted an entry on his blog titled "When Did Reagan Stop Sucking." The post noted the sainthood of Reagan after he died, and my friend wondered when Reagan went from a bad president to a good one.

I replied to his post that the post-administration apotheosis will happen to GWB, too, and that some day his face will end up on a quarter.

It looks like the revisionist history is already happening. Prospect magazine has just published an article about GW called "A Truman for our Times."

Given the way the right has deified Reagan following his death, I think they may as well have perserved his corpse and put it on display in a glass case (ala Lenin). Take the kids to see rotting Ronnie on your next trip to DC! Or better yet, put him on wheels and cart him out every four years for the Republican convention. The possibilities are endless (is there a Ronald Reagan action figure out there yet?). During one of the Republican presidential candidate debates earlier this year we created a great drinking game -- take a shot every time one of the participants invoked the name of St. Reagan. Astounding...

As far as the current idiot-in-chief goes; notwithstanding the ramblings of neo-cons like Edward Luttwak, he is, always has been, and always will be an abject failure.
