Money Changes Everything

I don't know when it happened, but some time since the last Seinfeld show and now, Jerry Seinfeld became an asshole. My wife first pointed it out--his guest appearance on 30 Rock derived its humor from the fact that Jerry was so rich he could buy his own island. Then, his wife plagiarizes a cookbook, of all things, and Jerry makes the accuser look like a stalker on Letterman (it's on YouTube, and even Dave doesn't think it's funny). Behold, now, video proving what an arrogant jerk he is. (Oh, and another thing...he's not funny any more.)

Serendipity, I just made apost linking to an article about how jerry Seinfeld isn't funny in Slate:

I'll go read that right away. I thought we were the only ones thinking this. Is there a huge Jerry backlash afoot? I hope so. The guy needs to be brought down a pegboard.

Yes, there is a massive Jerry backlash brewing lately. Don and Mike rail on Jerry everyday, playing sound clips of his supreme arrogance then rip what he said to shreds. Don and Mike have been playing a clip of Jerry for years, too. It's a sweet little clip of Jerry explaining how his audience is a "child."

I just caught Jerry on Conan last week, he did a painfully unfunny 5 minute routine, walked over and sat down next to Conan, then promptly said this before Conan could say anything..."I used to own this network...now look where I am...the Conan O'Brien show."

What a tool.

I guess I'm one of the LAST people to realize what an arrogant prick he is. I hope "Bee Movie" supplants "Heaven's Gate" or "Ishtar" as the new synonym for "flop."

I checked out "Bee Movie" online the other day and realized for the first time that he isn't funny anymore. I think he was trying, but he failed…miserably. The very next day I heard his exchange with Larry King on NPR. I was appalled at how remarkably arrogant he was. I wish his movie would flop, but as of this morning, it was the number two movie in the nation.

Then the question is...was he ever funny? Sure, the show was one of the greats, but without his supporting cast and brilliant writing of Larry David, the legacy of "Seinfeld" might be very different.

I've never liked him. Never been a fan of Seinfeld the show, because Jerry has always annoyed me, despite the efforts of the rest of the cast/Larry David's excellent writing. Saying so was always cause for a reprimand from pretty much everyone I know.
This has made my day.
