A question

I just received a response to the previous post suggesting that putting pictures of my daughters on this blog is dangerous. I feel irresponsible, as the suggestion was that these photos are putting my children in danger. Are they? I would appreciate some responses to this, please.

How is it dangerous? Most people who view it are friends-lurkers have no idea where you live...I disagree and you don't have to list it on google if you don't want to. What about Flickr accounts? That's similar to a blog and lots of people have family photos uploaded onto that site as well. I don't see the danger.

That's what I was thinking, too, but there must be something I am still missing.

I don't think that you are putting them in any more danger than you would be by letting them play in a public park. Child Predators will seek out sites that allow them to contact the child directly, so they can begin the grooming process. Since the girls have no access to respond via your blog, my opinion is that they are pretty safe. I do understand the concern of "A Mom" and her suggestion is coming from a very caring place. If I were you, perhaps limit the pics' clues to the girls' personal hobbies and interests to a minimum.

Let's face reality..."they" have absolutely no interest your offspring...it's your Saturn they want! From now on...no more pictures of your Saturn and all will be divine.

I might of sent you a comment already if doing so disregard them all but this one. My age is getting to me today and the heat! Do I think its dangerous to put your kids pictures up. The answer would be no I think its more dangerous to have your children on railroad tracks. You read alot so you should know how many children and adults are killed or mangled from trains. No matter how slow a train goes. a grandmother and mom who cares!!!!
