As a postscript, here is what Ted McGregor, publisher of the Inlander, emailed to me after I sent him a letter to the editor about "Grandpa's WASL" (see the following story):
I like that Nigerian story idea — I’ll have to look into it. We did check on the story, but apparently not enough. So we’ll do something to follow up after the first of the year. If we got snookered, we’ll admit it. Thanks for keeping us honest.
